I’m absolutely buzzing, I’ve been lucky enough to partner up with the wonderful Desenio.
Since I was very small, I’ve been interested in interior design. I’d be thrilled at the idea of going to IKEA with my parents, not for the hot dogs and meatballs, but to help them with kitchen designs, sofa colours and persuading them to turn the staircase into a slide.
When I was 12 I asked for a chest of draws from my grandparents as a birthday present and at 16 I saved up all my money for a vintage style wardrobe and dresser.
Any space I reside in, be that for a week or a year, I have to adjust in some way. I’ll move the cupboard slightly to the left, or I’ll decorate with fairy lights and scatter cushions. For me, a home is somewhere safe, warm and aesthetically pleasing.
I’m sorry if this seems shallow, but it’s just the way I am; I’m a visual and creative person and the space I’m in has to inspire me. I’m not saying I have to spend loads of money, or live in a palace, I just like it when things look the best they can.
When I moved into my current home with my boyfriend, George, I was desperate to create a gallery wall above our bed. I wanted the pictures to tie in the colours from the rest of the room (as it was quite neutral), add a pop of colour and incorporate some of our shared interests which is where Desenio came in.
Desenio allowed me to handpick some gifted prints and frames from their website. There was an overwhelming amount of choice, but I started by searching for the colours I was looking for (green and orange) and then things like cities we’d visited, music we liked etc.
I’m so happy with the prints and so happy with how the wall turned out. How do you think I did? What would you have done differently? Let me know in the comments below and if you want to create your own gallery wall then use my code “LINDSEYISLA” for 25% off prints* on all Desenio sites until midnight June 27th (UK time).
If you’re stuck for ideas then follow @desenio for more inspiration, their instaaccount is beautiful.
